O/T A Ride in Grandpa's 1927 Model T Touring car...

This is my friends Model T truck.

He was a gramophone and Phonograph collector but most of all a record (label) collector. As in the photo he had a large garage and had all the different labels hanging on nails.

He bought this Model Truck and restored it and also painted the pictures himself.

He lives in Invercargill the furthest south, city in New Zealand so the Model T truck must be the furthest South advertising Victor – HMV truck in the world.

The trouble is most of the young people would not have a clue what the picture is and would never of heard the Victor or HMV names.

If you are wondering why Lizzie. I understand that farmers and ranchers would call their working livestock by this name. Tin Lizzie became the nickname for the Model-T.

I earned my drivers license in this 1965 Mustang. My Dad ordered it based on a dealer promo photo in 1964 and it was delivered in November of 1964 at a cost of $3200. The car was his pride and joy and has always been garaged and well maintained. He was very thrifty but ordered the good options including a V-8, 4-speed, and the fastback option. About the only other options are the radio and heater. It does not even have back-up lights. While growing up, he taught all the neighbor kids how to drive a stick shift. That's such a good tradition that I've continued to do it by teaching nieces and nephews as well as neighbor kids how to drive a pony car. The Mustang does not have power steering or brakes but it does have a heavy duty clutch. If you can drive it, you can drive any car. Well, maybe not a T! The car is an oil change from 200,000 miles. Like a Model T, it gave owners a great deal of value for the dollar. Jerry Blais

Those neighborhood kids are very lucky. My Grandfather has a 65 Mustang GT Fastback with a 4 speed, but he won't teach me stick on it. Yours would be harder to drive though, as his has power steering (it was an option) and front manual disc brakes (part of the GT package). Oh well, so I have to stick with driving his 65 Mustang convertible, which is an automatic.
