You can also buy one in Holland via
www.zwarteschijf.nl
Ko Nootenboomhas been in the business for almost 40 years and is known to provide a really quick service.
Not too long ago he still had original HMV mainsprings. But as mentioned in a previous post, you should mention the motor type.
By the way, I have no commercial connections whatsoever with any supplier.
And if you change the spring yourself, please be aware of security. Let the old spring run out completely, use a big (and I mean a big) cloth to open the barrel and be extremely careful. There is a lot of power still in a completely worn spring that can seriously hurt you.
There is a lot of information on this site about changing springs. Be sure to read those posts carefully before you attempt to do-it-yourself. Even experienced people have been unpleasantly surprised. I've always steered cleared of doing it myself. I'm a complete klutz and I know I don't have the power to keep an unruly lot of steel in control. I can solder the minutest things without problem, but feeding a new mainspring into its barrel totally exceeds my capacity. I simply haven't enough hands. I needs at least four, where someone with experience can do it with two and has ample time for small talk.

I have the proper mainspring for the HMV 101. Are you located in the USA?
