Has anyone experimented with using carnuba wax instead of beeswax when sealing soundbox diaphragm screws ? I would think carnuba would work better, since its harder and has a higher melting point than beeswax (85 C vs. 60 C).

I am a younger collector and I use the wax from when I had braces several years ago which seems to work perfectly.

G-shane is right...it shouldn't make a difference either way. Obviously the most important thing is to seal the connection to make it completely airtight.
In theory, you should use the lightest material possible for optimal sound. But because the amount of medium used to seal this point is so small, I doubt any difference in sound between materials could even be detected.
