I've got you beat deghi! I found a $3000 dollar 78 record. It's posted here under "Music". LOL I'm with you on this because it makes me crazy too. I hate when I look for nice old Victor Grand Prize records (1905-1908) as well as "Uncle Josh" records that I don't yet have. I'll find lots but everyone of them is listed with a starting price of either $15 or more!
Sometimes I can laugh. A few days ago there was a Victor Victrola VI listed for $799. I always wonder if these folks seriously think they are legitimate prices. Maybe they've been huffing spray paint? I also enjoy the Victrola listing that have interesting info like: "You will have to get a new needle because the original has been lost." and of course they frequently encountered statement that their VV-IV was made in 1903. I wonder why nobody seems to know what a patent date is.
Oh well, most of these sellers are not collectors of phonoraphic material and the machine is listed in their store just after the "Hot Wheels" cars and just after Uncle Henry's old bed pan.

I think those folks are trolling for suckers that have more dollars than sense. Selling a machine they bought at a yard sale for four grand would be like winning the lottery.

That's like when I'm looking at old cameras on eBay and they say "comes with flash but the bulb is missing"

Yeah, and lots of luck buying flashbulbs today. Back in the '80s you could get 'em for $2/doz. I've accumulated 93 no. 5 and 5B bulbs from various sources; they're all NOS. I'm saving them for those special occasions when a period film camera like my Graflex Century Graphic would be appropriate. I took this camera to the Reading (PA) Air Show a few years ago and it attracted a number of comments from the WW2 types in attendance.

Yup, not that hard to find, but definitely not cheap! Cool story about the air show I use them on my old Polaroids like this:

What I really don't understand are ads like this one.
You want $1500 for a "Victrola Record Player" that need refinishing, and you can't be bothered to put the model#
in the ad, nor do you have time to post a picture of it !?

I'm thinkin that Victor "record player" is a sweet find! All it needs is a fresh coat of paint and someone to re-wire it for 12v.
