Wow! That is beautiful. I like that more than the gold decorated version.

Finds like this are what makes this hobby so much fun. Here's a picture of one of my latest finds- not as nice as your XX, but still pretty decent. I need a few more parts to complete it, but am making good progress in that direction. No-one else at this auction had any interest at all so I got it for lunch money. Fun stuff!!

Hello...I have had a recent inquiry about my VTLA and if I would be willing to sell. I honestly do not know what the asking price would be. Honest advice woulf be most welcome. Thanks so much. Sorry for the horizontal pics....no matter how I rotate them...this is how they show up.

WOW, a restorable Victor the Sixth for lunch money. It doesn't get much better than that!

You don't come across these very often. What you have is a highly desirable Victrola XX. Only about 500 were made. To make yours even scarcer is that the vast majority had gold leaf on the carving, so by some estimates, yours is 1 out 14.

It's been a while, but if I'm not mistaken, these at one point ran around $20K.

I would not sell my VV-XX (VTLA) seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3YXXk_5t_g for south of 8K with all of its original record boxes. Mine has the original gold leaf on the carvings which I feel is more desirable than those that were released without the gold leaf in spite of their scarcity. The gold leaf simply makes the beautiful carving really pop and adds much to the appearance. That said, if I didn't have a VV-XX I would purchase one with or without the gold leaf instantly.

A Victrola XX used to be worth $8-10k, possibly more, possibly less. With a machine of this scarcity, I'd have to say that it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it. ;)

Are they only in the $10K price range?....guess my memory has been off. Either way, remember talking to a board member several years ago (perhaps even a decade by now), and recall they were well out of my price range at that time....which $10k or 20, would have been the same for me at the time....too rich for my blood.

Regardless of what any machine is worth....it still really depends on what a person is willing to pay. When you start looking at high dollars the number of serious buyers start to drop like fly's.

A XX was just purchased by a member on here recently for a few hundred dollars.... ;).

That's a really nice XX.

I think a XX is on everyone's wish list (unless you already have one of course) I know it's on my list.
