Electric pick-ups are really easy to do yourself if you have a soldering iron, & provided the coil is not shorted out.
The only parts you normally need is about 1cm of acoustic soundbox tubular gasket, and a flat piece of rubber (I've even use a small section of a wide rubber band).
Most be can be restored in 15-20 minutes.
