My appologies Adam. For some reason when I read your post, Russia registered as Prussia, which is commonly found on pre WWI disc

Hi Guys!
I re-activated this listng from several weeks ago to ask about this record I found online early this morning. Any ideas what's up with it?

Re: 2 stamped gramophone records
For a few years Victor used the recording angel logo on the back of discs when the master was obtained from The Gramophone & Typewriter co in England.
At the same time, when G&T obtained a master from Victor, it was stated on the label. "Made by" obviously refers to the recording itself, as the record was still pressed in Hanover, Germany, and retained the normal recording angel logo on the reverse side.

I didn't know that the "Writing Angel" trade mark was registered at the US patent office. Do you have any dates and numbers of the registration?

Re: 2 stamped gramophone records
If we are to believe the information published by the late Howard Friedman & shown on the previous page, Victor first used the "recording/writing/transcribing angel" in early 1903, so I would think the US version of the design was registered around the same time? Being a past researcher though, he may well be wrong
