If you are considering the purchase of a rear mount Victor machine, always check to make sure the machine has the correct back bracket. You can accomplish this by dropping the reproducer into a playing position and swinging it towards the spindle. The needle should touch the spindle or be very close. If the distance is too long or short, the machine has the wrong back bracket.

You wouldn't think this is much of a problem but many long time collectors do not realize there is a difference in size between a Vic III, IV, M, and MS and a Vic V, VI, and D size bracket. Brackets get switched when someone changes out a bracket based on condition or some other reason. Jerry Blais

Hi....thanks for the advice. When I am looking at external horn Victors in the future, I will keep this in mind.
