Just a quick note to thank all of YOU for the lead to Don Gfell back in February. Back then my oak spear tip horn had a loose collar and it was actually coming apart. You all recommended I go see Don at the Union show back in April. Well I did, and yesterday I picked up my fully restored horn and it looks AMAZING to say the least. Words can't begin to describe his craftsmanship. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! You would be hard pressed to ever know that this horn was ever touched. He actually softens the original stain, saves it, and reapplies it to the horn as he works on it so the color match is identical. Again truly incredible. Now I have the horn back on the Victor V which is now sitting on a gorgeous Herzog cabinet that has also been restored.
Only problem is that now that Vic V set up is so gorgeous I may have to sell off the Victor IV and Victor 6 and the mahogany cabinet as I dont have the room for all three........not sure yet.......I like them all.....but really only have the right space for the one.
Thanks Again.
Jeff
Thank You Don Gfell!!!! and all of you!!!

I'll second that, Don does beautiful work, he restored the horn on my V which had started to fall apart at the seams, you'd never know it by looking at it now, he also repaired a hole in my XXV Schoolhouse machine's horn that I can't even find when I look for it. He's a really nice guy, too!
