Here we have a nice restorable Columbia model A phonograph. It is the New York model, released in 1897. These early Columbias have a really nice look. This one has a super nice finish and a respectable original decal on the case bottom. As well, it has a really strong motor with a nice spring. It will need restoration as shown in the pictures as well as some readily available parts. The casting on the reproducer carriage has swelled, so that will need to be addressed. All in all, a very nice restorable machine, or a great parts machine to restore or upgrade yours.
