Please help me with some info

Post by rellyc »

Hello, I wanted to buy a gramophone for a long time but didn't manage to find one to please me and fit my budget (I found at antiquites markets but very expensive).
A few days ago I spotted this one:

One the frontal plate is says Type 0231 n° 03298 right under Pathé.
Could you please give me more info about it? Like model, year, acoustic performances and price on the market (in order not to pay double).
Google didn't help me very much.
Thank you for your help!

Welcome to the board. I can't offer any help, but this may be better if it were posted in the "machines" part of the forum.
Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?

Brad is right. I normally NEVER look here. You will definately get some good answers if you re-post this with photos under "Machines" or possibly even "Yankee Trader. I'm not knowledgeable enough to offer help but my gut says that something about the brass horn, the tone arm and the eproducer are not quite right.

It looks like a frankenphone to me. A machine made up from parts of other machines.
The tonearm is certainly not that of a French Pathé open horn machine.

I would pass.. looks like horn and connection is not correct... that is a Pathé case.
