NEW BERLINER FINDS

Post by gramophone78 »

I ran across some interesting items last week. I have only seen one other of the record box. Being thin cardboard I'm shocked that it has survived the way it has. The "turret" sound box was made for about one year.

Congrats Wayne. Both fantastic items!
I wonder how many people actually bothered to "replace in box after use"? Yours looks a though it's never been out of the box  You couldn't ask for a better example. You couldn't FIND a better example.
The record box is awesome too. It's amazing what survives. Most were probably discarded after 10-20 yrs of general household use, so I'm not surprized there's so few around.

Thank you both. Shane, the record box I think was for dealers. If you read the label, you can see it was for 12 of one selection. Therefore, I'm sure many were just tossed out. The man had a few very cool items. I'm saving the best for last. This CND trade-mark is the lowest serial number I have ever seen at #851. The spare all brass horn will come in handy one day.

Those must have come straight from a time machine! It's like you traveled to 1900 and stocked up. The condition is incredible on everything.

Rene, I'm sure most of us would love to go back in time and buy all we can..... I forgot to say "hi!" to Mr. Berliner while I was in the store. As some of you know......I needed another trade-mark like a hole in the head. However, it was the b&b horn that I had to have.....OK, maybe the turret sound box too..... if I was in the Gramophone store....do you think they would have had them lined up like this to buy???. I need a bigger time machine!!!.

Bigger time machine? No, you need a teleporter to send them all to my living room! They do need to stay together.

I'm pretty sure that envy is one of the seven deadly sins, but I can't help it...
