Even more amazing is the seller has had 5 buyers, one for $10! And, the seller claims that they came from a 1914 "VICTROLIA", so they might already be used!!

Even worse is "DO YOU OWN A PHONOGRAPH AND THE RECORDS JUST DONT SOUND RIGHT?
HAVE YOU TRIED REPLACING THE NEEDLE?"
Oh, I guess I need a new needle this year - better buy one or even, gosh! three!
Hmm, I replaced the needle this year, and the record still sounds bad. Wonder wehY?

Try looking at the thread I started about another eBay seller offering a Victrola VV-VI complete with the Edison records that go with it.
I gave him the very polite and gentle explanation that it's really not such a great idea. He replied saying the records sound just fine to him but thanked me for "my info". It never ceases to amaze me that people don't spend just 5 minutes online to find out a little bit about the things they want to sell.

EDG,
When I bought my first HMV portable as an 18 year old at a street mraket in1974, the seller gave me a box of needles and told me to change the needle after every side.
