A really nice Edison Model D Maroon Gem just sold on EBay today for $1000 with horn, even though the horn has been professionally repainted or it's a very very nice reproduction. As an Edison collector I have always like the Gems, especially the maroon models D and E.

Current prices are really low. I bought my first Model D Gem with original crane, two piece red horn, and K reproducer in 1975 for $800. Jerry Blais
