My name is Ashot Arakelyan, I’m a private record collector. This blog is for those, who is interested in an art of forgotten old opera singers.

What I do not like about this blog is that the author does not list
any reference. He must have the largest collection of books and
newspapers in the world, but apparently nobody knows that. Otherwise how does he so much information?
Also he is not known among the 78 records collector as being one of them.

The worst is his posting on Aramburo:

1. He took over without reference the chronology from another
website. The chronology was the work of the late Tom Kaufman
as indicated on the website.

2. He also list all those cylinders for sale the he does not
own and they are most probaly from a Symposium CD or a similar CD
seller. Selling mp3s from the work of somebody else!
He also lists the GT test of Aramburo as Otello. There is only one
copy and he does not have it.

Well, you certainly seem to have some "ax to grind" as we say, following Mr. Ashot from forum to forum to post the identical "objections" to his blog. I'm not a blogger, but I don't think anyone is looking for a page of footnotes on blogs, they are what they are...not legitimate news organizations or refernece works. Also, I don't think I know every 78 record collector, so what is that saying? Sorry for the cool response to your recent membership. John

I hadn't noticed the MP3's.

I would agree that selling or making available transfers from record labels like Symposium or Pearl or what have you isn't a good thing. Many of those small historically centered labels struggle financially as it is. We should buy their work from them. :P

Thanks for pointing that out Wolfe. After reading some of the two-way vendetta material, I don't think I'll ever be visiting any of these blogs. Life is too short.... John

It was 'Guest' that pointed it out.

I'm only making my comment in the face of such a scenario, generally. Mot even entirely sure of the veracity of 'Guest's' claims in this particular circumstance.
