Hi John, you're more that welcome, but in searching for images, I also came across this, which looks to be identical to the 820 illustrated in the brochure on this page -- http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... ?f=2&t=293 :






It's from this page -- http://www.intertique.com/VivaTonal8IDDemo.html -- but is identified as an 800??? (I think they might have made a mistake, because it certainly is not like the 800 in Baumbach's book, and every bit like the 820 illustrated in the brochure.)

That is certainly not an 800! The elusive 820 in the, er, "flesh", um, VENEER.

That's an 820. Nobody has yet commented on the main distinguishing feature of this model - note the tilt-out record "drawers" on both sides of the horn. Similar to ones used on some Brunswick machines as well as some of the later Columbias. The 800 and 810 merely had shelves in these locations which held conventional record albums. Also, I can't remember this from the one I've seen, but the photos would indicate that the 820 no longer uses the sliding pocket doors used on the 800 and 810.
