Oh, that's good news. It had been withdrawn for some years. It's also the same price that it was in 2002, so a very good value!
I use DeNoise with a maximum of Limit Reduction of 4 dB, which gives very good, conservative results. Higher settings can sound distorted, it's true.

Re: Marlow Hardy and his Alabamians
Unfortunately I cannot afford the KAB VSP, so I have to go the PC path. I have found that when I follow a set of rules of thumb, I can get very satisfactory results without the dreaded digital rinkle that some 'restorers' (even so-called professionals) get in the treble. Okay, it IS more time consuming, because you have to do a lot more steps and for normal playback the VSP is far preferable, but again for me it is more than 2 months of household budget.
I too try to get that famous John R.T. like sound. He really set the standard.

Re: Marlow Hardy and his Alabamians
Thanks to all of you for all these technical suggestions - I really appreciate it. So maybe I have to buy the KAB sooner or later - although I'm almost flat broke these days and couldn't afford it right now.
Come to think of it, I definitely have to share my MP3 transfer files on this forum more often (I hardly posted any before) - and of course, constructive criticism is always very welcome.
