Sorry for the bad pun. It seems like a number of nice machines are turning up as folks clear out unwanted stuff their parents/grandparents left behind.
This was at a local auction but was not listed in their online listing. I usually search the local auctions with online listings and take the time to scan thru the pictures (these are the pictures that were on the webpage from the auction) even if there is no mention of "Victrola" or "phonograph" in the list of items they are selling. I was surprised to see this one about 45 minutes away so headed up Sat nite. There was one left bid, but a low one, and I was the only one who was there bidding live. It turned out to be a pretty good way to spend a Sat evening.
It does need some parts but is in overall good condition.
Not quite the bargain Steve A got on the Pathé- but a good buy compared to other BO's I've seen.
Now to find those missing parts.

Both the Pathé Actuelle and Class M I obtained recently thru CL and Ebay were phonographs that the sellers found at garage sales. I can only image what they paid for these! So if your driving somewhere and see a garage sale, stop in.

Steve, I wish I could offer you a suggestion regarding your BO as you know where my heart is..
. However, I'm sure a good (Phono) doctor can find a way to deal with it. Perhaps a little less spicy food....????
. Seriously....I know that machine IS in good hands now.

Congratulations! I bought a mint Type BOT at the Long Beach flea market back in the 1980's and wish I had never sold it. They are quite rare and the only Graphophone with a horizontal carriage, IIRC. Mine had the factory black horn. I'll try to post photos tomorrow.

The BQ also has a horizontal carriage:JohnM wrote:They are quite rare and the only Graphophone with a horizontal carriage, IIRC. Mine had the factory black horn. I'll try to post photos tomorrow.

Forgot about that one! Still a rare example of a 6" mandrel Graphophone.
