Columbia BO parts

Post by schweg »

I need the metal tube that connects the tonearm to the reproducer. Also a horn elbow. Thanks for any help you can provide. Steve

Perhaps the Grafonola elbows were potmetal; but the external horn elbows (at least, judging from my BI) were brass.

The reproducer connector may be a bit harder to find: have you tried George Vollema?

Schweg is looking for a part for a cylinder Graphophone, not for any disc machine. The gooseneck elbow he needs is aluminum.

No luck so far. George V. did not have it. I knew this might be a tough one to find.

I'm in the same boat, too. I just bought a Columbia BQ, and I need that same part.I know a musical instrument repairman in mt area who might be able to make this part. If anybody has good close up pictures of this part, that will be greatly appreciated.

Harvey,
The originals are cast aluminum.

I believe that Mark Dawson (check spelling) in New Zealand has made some reproductions of this 'question mark' shaped piece. They are almost impossible to find otherwise. He's a member of this board - maybe he'll respond.
