What machine is this lady using?
I've just come across this photo online, it's from the 1920s but I can't make out the name on the machine - can anybody identify it? I presume the cylinder was perhaps sent with the letter she's reading, not sure though!

That's a Dictaphone, the brand name for Columbia's office machines.

Interesting photo! Looks like this could be some actress dictating replies to fan mail! Note what looks to be a dressing room mirror in the background.

I posted the picture to Facebook and there's a good possibility this is Norma Talmadge, or possibly her sister Constance.
