They're different models, though they're basically the same in terms of the (overall) cabinet design.

On Victor-Victrola.com, each model has its own page:

VV-XVIII -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/XVIII.htm

VV-130 -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/130.htm

As noted the 130 is basically the same as the XVII model -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/XVII.htm -- which was slightly simpler than the XVIII. (Victor switched from a Roman Numeral designation to standard numbering in the late teens.)

The guide to all the models is found on this page -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/product% ... mation.htm

....but here's a quick jump to the frame in its own page -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/new_page_2.htm

In terms of what they would sell for, it all depends on condition, etc., though I think the prices for the XVII and the 130 would be similar since both were high end. The XVIII, as noted, was more deluxe, so that would probably command more.

What's the difference between an actual descriptive thread title and post that uses punctuation and capitalization (as learned in grammar school,) and the other kind? I dunno, it's a riddle. :?

Deb, wondering if perhaps it might be the XVII that you were thinking of, rather than in XVIII, in comparison to the 130. The 130 was basically a renamed XVII when Victor changed its naming conventions, the one another poster has described. They are kind of 2 peas in a pod.

The XVIII has a considerably more elaborate case with extra moldings, carvings, elaborately matched patterned veneers, etc. and brings a good deal more than the XVII/130 twins. The production run of the XVII/130 was also many time more than the XVIII.

The only substantial difference between the VV-XVII and the VV-130 is the used needle arrangement. The 130 uses a special little drawer rather than the traditional used needle cup.
