Replacing A Belt On A Red Gem

I have been working and cleaning my Red Gem. I am having a difficult time replacing a belt.I have replaced the belts on Firesides, Standards, Homes, Triumphs and Columbia machines with no problems. This is a real pain to replace. The Gem is so hard to get into. Any suggestions?
