Edison Diamond Stylus
Where do you buy a new stylus for a DD reproducer. Saw this auction on Ebay but it doesn't look like that is the same stylus that is on my reproducer.http://www.ebay.com/itm/GORGEOUS-BRASS- ... 3f12c137d6

Re: Edison Diamond Stylus
Jan,
That stylus shown is not the correct one. It is used for LP's and 45"s. If that seller used that stylus for the Edison, DD, it is wrong and will ruin records. It it were me, I would have the reproducer professional repaired and have the stylus installed. I remember seeing a thread on rebuilt Edison reproducers in this forum. If someone can chime in and bring up the thread, that will be great.

I didn't think that was right but thought I better ask. Things are always changing and thought maybe this is something new.

Yes, it looks as though the seller installed a hi-fi stereo needle assembly in there.Phonofreak wrote:Jan,

I don't know if would ruin the records, it won't on a modern turntable, but at the tracking pressure exerted by the DD diaphragm, it may be different? The stylus itself could be the victim in that case, not being designed for that purpose, it'll have a short life.
