Reproduction VTMC Gate Logo

Post by rlb955 »

Would anyboby be interested in a reproduction Victor Talking Machine logo.It would be cast in plastic and painted gold like they were first painted when they were installed at the factory. They will be cast from an original logo that was on enterance gates to building 17 the cabinet factory.Cost would be around $150.

I love the idea, and I'd love to have one, but not for $150. I recall someone selling metal repros on eBay for less than that.

$25, in fact.

I'm sure the one on e-Bay cost more than $25.00 to make. That was a good deal!

The one on Ebay is a 12" machined piece. These would be 18" cast from the original with all the details and and all the original casting flaws. The cost could be less if I can find a better price on the casting resins.

I've not cast them yet but would be light enough to be easily hung on the wall unlike the cast iron original.

I remember your post about this logo before...

http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... hilit=vtmc

... when you were trying to confirm it was actually used on one of the buildings at the original victor manufacturing facilities in camden.

I'm just curious as to where you might have found it, because there can't be many of these floating around.
