Needle Tins & Packets

Starkton's thread got me thinking.....why not do a "needle tin & packets" thread???. Lets see some cool, neat and rare tins that we all have. Since I'm starting......I will post the first tin & packet. I can't wait to see what tins other members have. Even sets would be cool to see.

Being a fan of early aviation, I really like those two!

I've never sought out tins, nor bought any beyond those I found in machines or that came in boxes of stuff. Consequently, I don't have many (any?) interesting ones, but I'll show these just in case someone might enjoy them.

Wow all of you folks tins look really neat! I'm so new to this I never knew collecting them was an option so I don't have any. If I've seen them in antique stores before I probably didn't even know what I was looking at. I'll have to pay more attention from now on!
Sadly, all I have is an Altoid tin to photograph but nobody would want to see that so I'll refrain, lol.

Is there some way to find them in one's local area or are they more of an internet find? What I mean is are they found commonly in antique stores or just amongst collectors?

That Stewart packet cant be easy to find.
I've got qite a few tins, but nothing rare or unusual. I might add a few later if I get time.

I too love that Stewart packet. That has to be mega rare....well done. George, there is a Canadian version of the Victor black & gold 1000. I thought I would add the other to thread. I also like the "opera" tin.....very cool. Although this is an "off shoot" to phono collecting. The graphics are wonderful and they are small enough to collect till the cows come home.....

Packets can be found here as well, but needle tins were mostly popular in Europe. Some of the largest needle manufacturers were located in Germany, so many of the tins have German writing on them. There are also some really stunning needle tins from India and Far East.

Here's another one that I just got. I've been wanting a Paillard tin for a while, so I treated myself for my birthday. I love the paper insert with the hidden message at the bottom reminding you to buy another box.
