Edison Diamond Disc Re-Creation ad 1916.

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

From the August 1916 Canadian Home Journal. This was just when the tone tests were beginning to gather steam and the records became " Re-Creations " With the emphasis on the first syllable..."

Hey Jim,
thats a great ad - love the way they emphasise the "RE" -creation!!

BTW was Zenatello a very short guy or is it just that the phongraph was very tall! The picture makes him look like a midget!

That C250 (or C19) is a big boy--a hair over 51" high, and that would be with the lid closed! I have an A250 that is about the same size. The top of the open lid is on a level with my nose and I am 6'. They believed that phonographs should have an imposing presence in those days!
