WTB The Columbia Phonograph Companion, Vol 2

Post by FloridaClay »

Hi all,

If you have a copy of The Columbia Phonograph Companion, Vol. 2, in good condition you are willing to sell, email me. This is the one by Robert W. Baumbach on disc machines, NOT vol. 1 by Howard Hazelcorn on cylinder machines. (I already have a copy of that one.)

Is this one out of print already?

(well, a quick online search shows that it unfortunately is...)

Yep. Neither the publisher nor the usual books dealers have copies.

According to Mulholland Press:
Columbia Phonograph Companion Volume II has been out of print for several years and will not be reprinted.
One would think the Columbia disc machines would be more popular than the cylinder machines. Yet, the Vol 1 cylinder book is the only one available. I noticed Vol 1 was out-of-print for a time but now available as an update; maybe Mr. Baumbach chose not to update or give publishing permission to Vol 2.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like with shipping to the US it would be getting on toward $140 to $150, so think I will pass and hope for better in the future.

Contact Robert Baumbach through Mullholland Press. Last year he told me that he was working on a second edition possibly in eBook version. Not shure how this has progressed by now.

Got no response from Mullholland Press, so just bit the bullet and bought the one from Amazon UK. So if you see me on that street corner holding out the cup, you'll know where this month's lunch money went. :)
