VE-XVI help needed

Post by bruv »

There is a VE 16 for sale locally. Looks to be in good shape. I haven't gone to look at it, just have seen a couple of pictures. The lady wants $250. Are those worth it and what does one look for in an electric machine that may cost $$ to fix? Any sugesstions or info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a picture of it. Has it been really changed on the front, or did they look like that?

Oh my. That XVI has undergone a major facelift - and the "doctor" should lose his license! I'd stay away from that one, I'm afraid.

Ooohhh I agree with George. Run away!

You can pick up a nice original mahogany XVI for $500 or even a good bit less these days.

Thank you for the advice. I thought the front looked a bit off.

Look at the grain of the wood on the lid. Is that walnut? Jerry

It does look like walnut. If someone butchered a Circassian like that, I won't sleep tonight...

It would sound terrible! Look at how much of the horn they have covered up!! If that has been under surgery consisting of putting a board over the original front then possibly it could be pulled off but is it worth it ........... I doubt it!
