Parts Needed For Very Early Victor C - Thanks For Any Help!

Post by FellowCollector »

Greetings! I have owned this very early production Victor C for nearly 20 years and the poor little guy still remains incomplete after all those years. Yes, it needs dusting too! If anyone has any (preferably) original Victor parts to complete it I would be most appreciative. This is an extremely early production Victor C with the E. R. Johnson Gram-O-Phone label and has the extended support arm with foot, so I need at least a 21 inch Victor brass bell horn, a 19 inch tonearm and Victor Concert or Johnson New Century reproducer and a decent leather elbow. Please feel free to respond by Personal Message. Thank you to anyone for any help! :P

Wow!, I cannot help you with parts I am afraid but what a amazing machine! Even in such poor condition! I dream of owning a early machine like that!, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it in that condition?
Thanks
Alex

Fantastic :!: :!: :!: I don't think it's in poor condition at all, a little dirty maybe, but the metal top looks really good, and with an intact celluloid label to boot.

If you want to keep it strictly period, you'll have to find an ER Johnson marked soundbox. The NC will be real tough, the ERJ concerts turn up from time to time.

Good luck I'm real jealous

Thanks for the gracious comments on my early Victor C. It's actually in pretty nice original condition as penman mentioned. I guess I should have dusted it before taking the pics. I would be deeply grateful to anyone who can help with the parts I need to complete this little guy. Everything on it is original and I'm hoping to keep it that way, if at all possible. Amazingly (and happily), the record hold down was kept with it. If I can complete it I am hoping to post a video of it on my MusicBoxBoy channel on YouTube. The motor purrs like a kitten so if I can eventually find the parts it should play nicely. Thanks again, in advance! Doug

Normally, I would not comment in the YT section. However, this is a very nice and very rare "C". The arm may be the hardest part. Unless you can use a longer arm from a Monarch....????. As Penman wrote the condition is far from "poor" and the way anyone would like to find one. I wish you luck in your search for the parts.

Thanks for your comments, gramophone78. I'm hoping someone will have the horn, reproducer and elbow to sell (or trade). The tonearm may have to be made up I'm afraid as it is likely the most difficult of the 4 items I need for this.

For anyone interested, I included a close up below of the original celluloid E. R. Johnson Philadelphia, PA tag on this Victor C that I am trying to complete. Again, any help or advice on completing it is sincerely appreciated! Thanks,

Doug
