Iron Sky - could have tried harder!

Iron Sky is a Sci-Fi film that I watched last night. I thought they were doing a tremendous job with their funky 1930's/ 40's props..........until the brass horned crapophone showed up.

That was 1 problem. Another issue that irk's is wrong propping, where film makers like to stick a horn phonograph in any movie that plays in a pre 1950's era. The Kings Speech was the previous example of this I saw. 1906 horn machine being used in mid 1930's.

I noticed the early machine in "The King's Speech" too. However, many of us retain and use things beyond their "period." It seemed a stretch for the King of England to still be using a 30 year old phonograph even though acoustic and even horned machines were still popular in England after America had moved towards electrics. I guess the fact that it had been relegated to a back sitting room made sense?

I noticed while watching "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" that there was a crapophone used in that movie as well. Kind of irked me a little.
