I think it's a custom Victor....No, I think not. If it is walnut.....warm milk for me tonight ;) :lol:.

Looks like Circasian Walnut to me! Too bad, real shame. Even the corner
columns with carvings are gone. From the lid moldings looks to be an early one.
Could this thing have once been an L-door??

Here are a couple pics under the lid. Looks like American walnut and has missing veneer.
Poor machine has been through hell.

I don't think the case is a XVI. The corner boards are straight without the flare and carving. At first I thought the top was spun around 180 degrees, but after seeing the last pictures, the cover lock looks correct.

I think the top part, from above the tone doors was mated to another cabinet.
Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?
