I was going through my Collectaables and came across 2 boxes of linguaphone Language courses in the origional boxes. These are the French courses. One has a small sticker on it saying BIEM , British Agency. A few are by Prof. Paul Passy (Paul Édouard Passy (13 January 1859, Versailles – 21 March 1940, Bourg-la-Reine) was a French linguist, founder of the International Phonetic Association in 1886. He took part in the elaboration of the International Phonetic Alphabet.) also There is a linguaphone French song records binder with RCA Canada labels that looks to be around the same age . so they appear quite old. can anyone tell me more about these and If a value can put on these for insurance reasons ,, Thank you
Terry

I don't believe there is a huge market for language discs (or most instructional discs, for that matter), so the value is probably minimal. I know many collectors who would probably give them away, including myself. They would not be worth insuring, in my opinion.

Re: linguaphone Language courses
They are of some mild novelty interest but not of great value- if I wanted a set I wouldn't pay much over a buck a record, if that. Some people pick them up to use the storage albums. The English language discs can be amusing to listen to: "I want to buy a suit. Please take me to Poole's. I must have it fit me properly. No I do not like this"
The only Linguaphone records of any market value are some of their English language discs spoken by J. R. R. Tolkein.
