I am in hot pursuit of an HMV 102 portable gramophone in decent condition. I would like it to be working properly, good looking at 5 feet. I am not looking for a beat one or a mint unit. Just a good looking user. Colors are preferable to black. You can contact me through this forum or I will be at the Union show in June, so if any dealers are reading this, please bring your 102 along.
Thanks
Mark

Thanks
I'll be watching the auction. That machine is pristine and I'd feel real bad after I'd bang it into a door jamb.

That one is pretty nice but pricey and missing the record tray. I'd love to find one of those in green.

Re: WANTED HMV 102
Yep, the price is approaching terminal velocity as the $88.00 for shipping has to be added. After some research I am lead to believe the record tray was no long standard equipment after 1936. Although one would be a nice addition. The unit for sale was built in 1948.
I predict the final bid price will exceed my willingness to pay. However I really, really like that blue color!

Re: WANTED HMV 102
Mark, you are correct, this one was never sold with a record tray. The reason that they are relatively "scarce" is that they were only produced for the first 5 years of a 29-year 102 production run!
Now I do need a blue record tray for my '30s model:

Still on the lookout for a HMV 102 and a record repeater device. Just updating.
