Crappo or Diamond in the Rough?

Post by John Svensson »

My money is on the former, but since I know absolutely nothing about HMV machines.....
the Seller describes the horn as being of aluminum and either it was cobbled together last week or it has been polished to the extreme.
Any information appreciated. John

Thanks, I thought so....now, can I interest anyone in a wood-horned "Harponola" that is available locally? Personally belonged to Harpo Marx, for $50 it is probably priced about right.... :) John

Kirtley: Your question is in regard to the Harponola? It is for sale in Denver, PA for $50 on Craigslist. You can send them an email and see if they care to ship to the UK. It has a pot metal arm.....internal horn type, cash in on the Victrola/Grafonola. It seems they were made by a furniture company in Celina, OH and is said "to work". Do a craigslist search for it and ye shall find! John
