I love this pic so much I have ordered a print. (They've got them doctored so you only get a tiny version if you print it yourself.) Not too bad at $15 for an 8 ½ x 11.
And wouldn't you love to have some of those Victor record window cards in nice condition?

Here is a link to the Sometime We’ll Understand recording.

The Encyclopedic Discography of Victor Records does not have the Mischa Elman Last Rose of Summer up. Ride of the Valkyries would have been the March 1921 Philadelphia Orchestra recording, but that is not up either.

Yes its a wonderful photo for sure, it looks like you could just open the door and go in! Victor produced the ride of the Valkyries on piano as well. The console in the rear appears to be the Hump Back version of the large machine perhaps?

What an amazing window display. Just makes you want to go shopping! Here is a picture of the American Walnut VV-XIV today.

I counted 30. 22 small Nippers on the upper shelf in the window, one on one of the shelves in the background (just to the right of the VV-XIV (or 110), and five more on the floor of the window display. Then there are two large nippers on the floor of the window display; one in front of the VV-XVII (or 130) and one all but hidden by the "Sometime We'll Understand" sign - just a bit of his back is visible to the right of the sign and above the record; it's his reflection you see in the side window glass.kirtley2012 wrote:how many nippers can you spot? i spy 31 not including the reflection in the window on the right!
I also see in the side window glass the reflection of three small Nippers at the leftmost edge of the upper shelf, already counted in the above total of 30 so I won't count those reflections.
If you count printed versions, add six (one for each displayed record label, though one is washed out by glare) plus three (one for each lid decal visible) plus one on the advertisement visible through the open doorway, plus one on the "June Victor records" sign, and last, one on the cover of the "Music Appreciation for Little Children" book for a total of 12 print Nippers.
