How many cranks for a 2 spring?

Post by a12548 »

What is the average number of cranks to get initial resistance, I rebuilt a 2 spring/ 2 barrel and it takes 35 to 38.

My Victor VV 210, with a Burton 2 spring motor, takes 45 cranks from complete wind down to full wind up. I normally stop after 35 turns, easily plays through 2-3 records.

My VV-XI two-spring motor takes 31-32 cranks until full wind-up. It will then run for about eight minutes before needing a rewind.

I don't count the number of turns. I wind until the crank starts to get tight. I quit after that. Anymore, I'm afraid to over wind and possibly break the spring.
