Interesting to me that the oak finish costs less than the mahogany. In today's market, the reverse seems to be true.

Zwebie is posting a 145. I've got one of those and it's a little gem! Sounds great for my use (enclosed front porch use). Acoustics by Melba, Patti and Caruso really take on a life of their own on this great little machine!

I went to Watauga today to pick up this HMV 145.
The seller accepted my best offer (half of the asking price) and we both are happy.
The oak finish is nicer than what's shown in the pictures. The spring Motor is clean and running quietly.Also all parts look like original (to me).
However, it is not without issues. In the back of the cabinet there is a little bit delamination, if one looks closely. The more severe problem is that the speed slows down during play. Now I am trying to find the cause of the problem and to fix it. Anyone knows how to fix this problem, let me know.

What differences pass through HMV 130 and 104 models?

I think the spring needs to be cleaned and re-greased. HMV used graphite grease in those days, and that stuff tends to harden over the years. If you've never done it before I think it's best to take it to a good gramophone dealer near you. There's no need to take the entire machine with you, it's very easy to remove the motor. I have a 130, so I know a little bit about it.
