Berliner Book

Post by pappde »

What are the essential books for someone who is interested in Berliner gramophones?

I would look into getting George & Tim's books. At least a few for reference. There is also a great book that was put out by a big Berliner collector in Canada. However, I'm not sure if it's still available. Also, since you seem to be fairly new in dealing with the technical aspect of this hobby. I would strongly recommend buying (on Ebay) another book called: "The Compleat Talking Machine" by Eric Reiss.

There are so many George & Tim's books... Could you please tell me which kind of content they use to privilege as well as the difference between them? Thanks.

Hi Pappde:

I don't know if this one is still available, but it might be worth hunting down --

The site's online Berliner gramophone collection is also worth a look -- http://mrgramophone.com/index.cgi?mode= ... y=Berliner

Thanks David. That was the "Berliner book" I had mentioned. Glad to see it is still available. I found the pics fascinating.
As to the George & Tim books......I will leave that question up to George to answer.
