Thanks to everyone who showed an intrest in my problem, I have now solved it :D :D .
I have taken out the new spring from Wyatt's and replaced it with a clock spring that was longer and now it will play 1 and a half cylinders on one wind. :D .
My next project is an Edison Triumph. It arrived with the case in pieces. :o .

Great news. Would you please post the specifications of the clock spring you used and a pointer to it on the web. Myself, and I am sure others, would be interested.

Good work, thanks

I can tell you that the height of the spring is 16mm the strenght is 0.30 and the lenght of it should be long enough to fill about half of the spring barrel. I can't be anymore exact than that because the spring I used had the end broken off and was in my stock. You could contact your local clock parts dealer, over here they are very good and if you show them the spring barrel they will supply a spring the right size. Hope this is of some help. Gordon.

Gordon, I am not familiar with categorizing a spring by "strength". Is that the thickness of the spring? In other words, is it .30mm thick?

Hi sorry yes, strenght = thickness of the spring. Height or width of spring is 16mm.
It may be easier to take the spring barrel to a clock repairer/supplier of clock parts to size the spring lenght. Gordon.
