So, here's a sample of Baby doing her stuff...

Even using an older reproducer, I'm still amazed at the sound quality of these DDs....

I agree. Great sound. Really for most listening there's absolutely no need for an Edisonic or Dance reproducer unless you want to make your ears bleed. I've got good Edisonics and Dance reproducers both but I almost never use them.

I second that. A standard reproducer with a good original diaphragm is so loud as to make me apologize to the neighbours . I rarely use the Edisonic...and then only for about half a side. That reproducer sounds very good in fact!

Thanks! I do note a little noise in loud passages, though; I'll have to see how it compares with the original D series reproducer when I get it back. This one is an A series, apparently from before they thickened the upper area to reduce vibration...

Nice machine and record! I prefer the Broadway Dance Orchestra to most Edison bands. Most of their titles that I have heard are quite good. I highly recommend "Haunting Blues". I have three takes of that record and can hear differences between each take.

I also prefer the sound of a regular DD reproducer instead of an Edisonic or Dance reproducer, plus the stylus weight is lighter and it won't wear records as quickly.
