HMV Line in 1936

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

I was digging and came across these and thought I'd scan them while they were at hand. At a time when the Orthophonic Victrola had been long laid to rest HMV in England was still offering a very " moderne" series of Re-Entrant gramophones along with their sophisticated electric radio-grams of the period. These ass are from the January 1936 Gramophone. Rather surprising to see these two lines existing at the same time, but as we have said before, a surprisingly large area of the UK remained beyond the range of electric power lines in the mid thirties.
