Brake replacement

Post by amrcg »

Hi all

Is it possible to replace only the rubber of these external brakes?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gramophone-tu ... 35bcdab70e

Or do we have to replace the brake piece as a whole? My problem is that my new brake has the rubber intact, but the handle is in worse shape than my original handle. So, I was wandering...

Regards,
António

I believe it should be leather not rubber. The idea is to bring the turntable to a gradual stop and not an immediate one. A drop of oil on the leather pad brings the turntable to a gradual stop. Jerry

Hi

These are rubber or some type of plastic, or at least resemble plastic after all these years :D
