I installed a new car horn in my Pontiac Vibe and needed a piece of steel to support it. I happened to have some motor board supports that I saved out of a trashed Victrola XIV. Oddly enough, the screw threads for mounting the horn were identical to those of the motor board screws. I couldn't have installed this horn without that phonograph part.
How have you used leftover phonograph parts?

Besides wind up phonographs, I am a model railroader. I use old, junky useless parts as flat car and gondola loads for my large scale trains.

Re: Inappropriate Uses of Victrola Parts
I have heard of many phonograph motors being sacrificed from the 30's through the 50's to build cheap trolling motors.
I'd rather hear the records...

That's a good idea. Maybe a period correct load for my Prewar trains lolPhonofreak wrote:Besides wind up phonographs, I am a model railroader. I use old, junky useless parts as flat car and gondola loads for my large scale trains.
