Is this worth the $30 and effort to save it?

Well: 30 bucks isn't much - and there might be some interesting history behind it...

Looks like a fairly typical off brand, though the reeded columns add some interest. If the record bin door is lost you should be able to find an oak door from some old piece of furniture that could be cut to fit.

Turns out it is a Rishell someone remounted the lid upside down. Yes, I will have to make a new door. It is definitely in rough shape and will never be a true show piece but it will be fun to play with. I found a tone arm which is good because mine has tape all over it.

Looks like I am turning my basement into a work shop.

I saw that on craigslist and thought about calling about it, but didn't as I already have enough projects. At least someone on here got it and it didn't end up in the landfill. Good luck with it. ;)

Thanks, the lady was really nice. She said she refinishes furniture but just wasn't up to it. On the way home I stopped and bought a VV-X. It is also a project. That makes 3 for me so I better stay off CL for a bit. :)

That's nice- Rishell was built by a furniture company in Williamsport Pa. The family name is actually Rishel. From what I've seen their fancier cases were a notch above average.
