Anyone know where to get this reproducer?

This is labled Singlephase Ultra made by the Audak Company. It came off my Rishell but is very broken. Anyhow I am hoping to find one so I don't get into making a frankenstein model but if there is no luck what else do you think I could use?

Dear Moximama,
I may have one of these but it is also a replacement on your Rishell. They had their own sound boxes and of the ones that I have seen, they had mica diaphragms. Hope this helps!

Look for it on the Bay.
Past several months at least five of them were listed. They are all in very poor shape. All pot metal construction, for whatever reason very poor quality, all heavily cracked some severely warped. Two parts held together by five screws. Aluminum diaphragm held by shellac impregnated paper rings. Try to take it apart and the diaphragm tears at the screw holes. Take the screws out then soak/ immerse the whole soundbox in denatured alcohol for a few days, then it will come apart OK. Connection at throat very strange, the rubber always gone. Same soaking will help removing remainder of rubber cake.
I think there was a reference to the Audak soundboxes in the book "From Tinfoil" ;)

I found one of these in my parts box. The front is almost perfect except for a crack near the very bottom on the front piece. The rear, unfortuntely, looks similar to the one in your photograph. The one I have passes the needle scratch test and sounds loud.

Ha I didn't even think to test mine. Just saw it was beat up and likely needed replaced. What is the scratch test? How much would you want for yours? I just found what is billed as a tone arm and reproducer parts for a Rishell. Not sure what I'll end up with....but I boyght it.

I would give you the one I have for shipping but although the front looks great the pot metal
in the back is in sad condition and will disintegrate if fiddled (tech term) with.

The needle test is merely scraping the needle with your finger and is nothing more than
a rudimentary test of the diaphragm.....cheers

I will still take yours if you don't need it. It seems like it is better than mine and fits well on my broken tone arm. I got some original parts in the mail today but it neither a full tone arem or a full sound box....so I have more digging to do but I know it will work in the meantime....

I sent Peter Wall my orthophonic for about $7 just let me know how much you want me to send you....and you can pm me your email if you want me to paypal it

Thanks
