One difference I've noticed already between my machine and the manual is the total absence of oil tubes on my mechanism. In fact, the bedplate doesn't even have the holes to facilitate them.

Many thanks for posting this. Edison nut that I am, this is just like candy. I was amused that the proof reader in 1913 missed the crank being put into the " winding steam within."

Hmmm... puzzling. Could you post a close up of your bedplate? The hold for the oiler, (I think) should be in the rear right. It should have a little brass cover that swivels over it.The Disillusionist wrote:Thanks for posting!

For me too! I'm amazed at how often you find small mistakes like that. Btw, did you read the maintenance instructions, remove and vaseline the mechanism every three months and annually clean the whole mechanism with gasoline??? I'm sure nobody did that. It would stink up the house to high heaven for weeks after. Also the A250 instructions did not call out such a requirement???Lenoirstreetguy wrote:Many thanks for posting this. Here it is. As you can see, no holes. The serial number, if that's what it is, engraved on the top of the bedplate is 341-A2.Valecnik wrote: Hmmm... puzzling. I was just part of a giveaway of car emergency kits (jumper cables, screwdrivers, etc.) I assume they were given away because the box clearly states they are only good in an "emergeny", whatever that is...Lenoirstreetguy wrote:Many thanks for posting this.
