Edison C150. what is missing?

I would suggest that one needs to consider here if your planning to buy all sorts of machines which of course many do, or you may already have? If so then another is fine. I have a nice S 19 in Oak that suited my purposes well in comparison to the nice condition but rather small London upright that got me into this collecting of Edisons again a while back.. What I am getting at is for myself since I value the sound they produce and if I only had room for one machine, then I would be more inclined to wait an get the Chippendale or William and Mary Upright or even an Console that takes the large horn.. The sound difference while somewhat subtle is still well worth it to have the larger machine for. Personally I have gotten along quite nicely in my house with a William and Mary Console which doubles as a phonograph and a piece of furniture.. In my sort of storage area next door at my moms I have my Chippendale and the S 19 now resides in her dining room.. It matches the color of oak of the dining set.. At some point I want to replace it as well with an oak or other larger machine to take advantage of the fuller sound there as well.. Nothing wrong with the S 19 its just a matter of preferences I think.

$450 seems rather high for a C-150..especially one that is broken. I would offer him $275-$325 if you want it real bad. The fact that the machine is broken is in your favor to your advantage.. I'm sure that he will take it...Besides, You don't even know if the Diamond on the reproducer is any good.. If it isn't, It will add another $150.00 to the machine to fix the reproducer on top of what is already broken. All things to consider. Whoa, I just realized that this thread is over 4 years old!

that's high I am the third owner Got mine for $100 off Craig's list. Mine I got from a guy whom purchased it from the original owner grand children. They it new from the store where they were sold.
