Edison Adapter
Was sprucing up one of my Edison DD machines(C150), which along with 53 various other machines that have been covered up since the late 80's, and I found this adapter. Put it on a C250 and played a Victor record and it sounded great. I now remember buying this machine at an auction waaaaaay back and this adaptor was sitting on the platter. Forgot all about it and it was a plesant suprise.

Re: Edison Adapter
Neat adapter, like how the needle bar comes up the back inside behind the mica. Looks like here, as on other companies' products, the process of plating gold directly onto white metal/pot metal means that the finish wears off more readily over time. Always wondered: is this was why Brunswick reproducers are always nickel plated, even if the other parts are all gold finished?
Have to admit, I'm still stuck on the phrase "along with 53 various other machines that have been covered up since the late 80's". Wow!

Re: Edison Adapter
This adapter is built like a tank and heavy and loud. I love restoring these machines but alas, ran out of room- I have a C250 and a VV100 waiting, hopefully I'll get around to them in the near future. Some of these adapters are neat - I recently found a KENT adapter in perfect condition in my junk box. I also found a KENT reproducer in great condition - had it rebuilt and found out it fits the KENT adaptor but is pointed at the wrong angle to be useful
Someone here on the Forum mentioned that the KENT adapter was used with mainly VICTOR reproducers. Oh well. Cheers
