The Mr. wants to buy me one for my birthday. Any leads where I might find one would be appreciated. There is one on ebay but it is missing parts. Thanks.

Wow, what a thoughtful and generous husband you have!
I saw that a 1909 Siam Soo sold on Ebay in June for 898 dollars! I think the Ragtime Rastus dolls are probably a little easier to find, but again, when they are complete they can fetch top dollar.
Hopefully another collector here can point you in the right direction... Outside of Ebay or attending shows and auctions, I don't personally know of any other reliable source. (A word of caution, too, as there are reproductions out there.)
Here's one to enjoy in the meantime during your search... and a happy birthday to you, whenever that may be!

Haha I wouldnt let him spend that much. The one on ebay is right around $100. I am wondering if the parts to the repros would work on the original...Tinkerbell wrote:Wow, what a thoughtful and generous husband you have!

I was actually wondering that myself... It may be an inexpensive way of getting what you want until you can find a replacement original part. That said, the seller on Ebay "claims" the reproduction to be identical to the original.m0xiemama wrote:Haha I wouldnt let him spend that much. The one on ebay is right around $100. Perhaps someone who has seen a reproduction side by side with an original might be able to chime in here.

I would love to have a Siam Soo doll. They are pretty intricate and are interesting from a mechanical standpoint. I have the Columbia Siam Soo record but need the doll to go with it! : )

I found one of those w/record for sale for $1335. While 30 is a big birthday, I don't think it is quite that momentous.SonnyPhono wrote:I would love to have a Siam Soo doll. Wow...that's quite a bit of money! I doubt I will find an affordable Siam Soo doll anytime soon so if anyone is interested in my Siam Soo record feel free to send me a PM.
