Hello everybody
Just thought I'd introduce myself - my name's Phil and I live in London. I've been collecting records for a long time now, but it's only in the last couple of years been regularly playing 78's as my interest in old time music, hawaiian and tin pan alley has grown. I've got an HMV 103 and a recently acquired Columbia portable gramophone.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Cheers
Phil

Welcome to the Forum Phil. Always nice to have more voices from over "the pond."

Welcome Phil and greetings from Texas. I'm glad someone likes Hawaiian records, or they would go to waste. We've had a nice Hawaiian-bashing thread on the forum lately; that kind of music has fallen out of favor in the States: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... f=3&t=9336
I'm sure a lot of collectors here would swap you their Hawaiian records for some nice WW1-era English music hall records.
I may be the only cowboy in Texas that appreciates Billy Williams, "The Man in the Velvet Suit".

Thanks everybody for your kind welcome. I would be more than happy to arrange some record swaps. Sadly for me, everything I want is on your side if the pond!
